I finally did it. I bought a young gelding. I have wanted to for a long time now. Sparky is getting pretty old and gimpy so I needed some new blood. I found him on dream horse, which I haven't had very good luck with in the past years. We bought a fat bay mare whom seemed sweet at the time( thanks to some acepromazine I'm sure) but once we got her home she turned in to a complete brat. Anywho....he will be 2 in August, and is pretty calm for a baby. I went and saw him on Monday and Jennifer bitted him up and saddled him. He did great. He has never been off the place his was born on, nor has he been loaded in a trailer before. With a little grain, he loaded right up. We only had to travel maybe 2 miles with him in the trailer. Once he realized he wasn't home anymore, he started to panic a little. Just a cute little whinney. He was pretty worked up when we unloaded him. All our horses were talking to him, and he obviously has never heard or seen a cow before. He did really well. I am excited to work with him. Of course the day I buy a horse, Dad's friend calls up and gives us a gelding. So we will have 2 new horses. It's exciting....I have alot of work ahead!!! I will have more pictures of him soon.

Who gave you a gelding? I'm so glad he's home. I'm waiting for some more pictures now!
You seem to have good luck with the chestnuts (sorrels). =)
Yes, I have found that I have a hard time with Bays. King was ok, but didn't like me to much. Sloopy was just a brat, but I do miss her. I will take some more pics today.
My dad's old friend gave it to him, I hope it's not a piece of junk. We will see...
