Hi,
Yesterday was Veteran's day and because it was a Tuesday I had if off work. Mom and I went to Michaels for some Christmas crafts. I bought some cheap wooden ornaments and the girls and I painted for hours and listened to Christmas music. We had to do it while Scott was at work, since he is a firm believer in no Christmas music before Thanksgiving....I know! For me anytime after Halloween is appropriate. For the giving spirit is for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anywho.....here is my little ornament, it was not too difficult, but since I am a perfectionist it took me like 2 hours. I free handed the little tree in the window. What do you think?

And perfect it is. I know too well how you can get during an ornament painting party. I hope you weren't hard on the girls. =)
I love your ornament and the tree in the window is fabulous!
I have learned to just sit back and let the girls work on their ornaments. I give a "helpful" idea once in a while. The year we did it, I was really gung ho. That was the year I spent the entire holiday season in my elastic waistband khakis.....remember.
Very nice ornament...I wouldn't expect anything less than perfect from Marjean! I'm totally with Scott on the Christmas music. My rule is not until Dec 1st. I did break my rule for the first time last year and listened the day or so after Thanksgiving. We will see how it works out this year! However, nothing until at least after T-day.
ok...loving the halloween costumes...but wish I could see the picture bigger! You may have to throw it on a "post" so we can make it big!
I remember the year of your elastic pants! I came home for a visit from Idaho and you were in those the whole time. It was like ALL CHRISTMAS...no time for anything else. Then you confessed the last time you showered...at this point I can't say much about that though.
Jessica,
Just give into starting Christmas after Halloween, you will never go back.
Kara,
I knew you remember, and yes showering wasn't a huge priority at that point. It was all about Christmas....and eatting.
That's when you developed the philosophy that nothing really mattered as long as you were happy. And that kind of stuck as our little crutch didn't it? =)
So, Jessica- with all the big meals you've been having...don't worry...because this is what we can say (ESPECIALLY during the holidays!)
