Yesterday Scott started on our new landscaping in the front yard that was seriously lacking. He made a new walkway. My dad cut us some cedar rounds to use as "stepping stones" a while ago, so we incorporated them in our new pathway. Scott did most of the work. Then we went to the store and picked out some little ground cover flowers. I think they are called libelia and alyssum....???something like that. I have never really been a very good gardener. I am going to really try and grow something this year. Scott has the green thumb. In fact we each planted a side of the pathway, and I am really hoping that my side doesn't die off. But that very well could happen. Scott's side will probably flourish and look beautiful. Oh well. C'est la vie.
We were also given a water wheel that our old neighbor from the ghetto gave us. It is really neat and soothing. It is so exciting to get the yard looking nice. We might even put up a little white picket fence, but probably after we paint the house/houses on the property. Have a great day!!

That is absolutely gorgeous! Doesn't it feel good to do that stuff? Your side won't die off if you don't want it too, I bet you just never really cared before, you know?
True, I really never did care. I have prepped our veggie garden for planting and will do that this week.
Alright, Martha...that's fantastic. Did you rototill it or do raised beds? What are you going to plant? Someday, I'd like a veggie garden too.
There already was a "raised bed" that used to be a sandbox. We filled it with dirt last year, so I had to weed the whole thing. It is supposed to be between 80 & 90 degrees this weekend. It's so weird, out of nowhere it's summer. It will probably snow the week after that. Talk to you soon.
