Well they said it could happen....and it did. It is April 19th and we had snow! I am so over snow now. So here we are in Spring and dealing with snow. To make it even better we had a soccer game today. When we arrived at the field it was covered in snow. The girls did NOT want to play today. I was really worried. I finally had to give them a motivational pep talk which included "Let's not act like a bunch of little girls!" Just because they are 10yrs old doesn't mean they have to act like it on the soccer field. Everybody was wet, cold, and miserable. We played the Mighty Martians and won 3-0.
We have played 3 games so far. We lost the 1st game 3-2 agains the Hot Peppers. We won our 2nd game against the All Stars, which is Chet's team. We were a little worried when my niece Mali dribbled up and scored on us in the first 5 seconds of the game, but our girls really stepped it up and we ended up winning 6-2. With our win today, we are now 2 and 1. We really do have a pretty good team. Our rules are: Always be positive, be first to the ball, and be aggressive. Sometimes I tend to be a bit competitive and so is Scott. So we have to tone it down a little. I really do like coaching, infact I am plannig on coaching the summer team with the same group of girls.
Aren't you glad I finally did an update. Have a great day!!

Yeah, I am so over snow also! I had a 10 mile run this morning in the slushy crap/blizzard. It ended up not being too bad, but seriously....April snow? C'mon now....this is ridiculous!
I'm loving your pep talk!! Go team :)
Congrats on your team's wins.
I have to say, Jessica- I wouldn't have run in the "slush-blizzard" and Marjorie I would not have been outside coaching and sloshing around on a soccer field. You're both hard core! Here in the south we embrace "little girl-hood"...even into adult hood. I'm proud of you, both (Oh and the children). =)
