Soccer time

It is the time of year for the kids to start playing Spring recreation soccer. Chet has been a coach going on 4 years now for every season of the year. In Fall I was his assistant coach. For Spring I decided I would just be a parent. Then after doing my Arbonne thing at Jessica's house, I received a frantic call from Chet. It seems that too many girls have signed up for his team. So needless to say we need to have 2 teams. Before I knew what was happening, I was signed up and trying to figure out a name for my very own Spring League Team. I am a bit nervous about this. I am not the most patient person when it comes to teaching kids soccer techniques. I tend to be more the disciplinarian. Chet and I will have our teams practice together, but will of course play games at different times. Infact our teams will have to play eachother a few times. It should be fun, and a good test for my Lenten promise of not being judgemental / controlling. Scott will help me coach so that will be neat. Most the girls will want to be on Chet's team I am sure, but I think I will win them over. Chet's team is called the All Stars, so to go along with the theme, although a bit corny, I think we might be the Shooting Stars. What do you think. If I can con my work to supply some uniforms they might be The Honeybucket Stars.

Wow! This will be a test for your Lent skills :) What age group are these girls? Shooting stars sounds good. Just have fun and don't take it too seriously...you'll be a great coach!

I hope so. They are 10 years old. So I am coaching Kylee's team, I am sure Chet will take Mali though I would love to have her too. I think I will go with The Shooting stars. Aren't you happy I updated my Blog!!

I know I'm happy about the blog update. And I wouldn't be worried about your team. I think maybe you're being a litte judgemental of yourself, perhaps. You're actually a pretty good teacher...even with the heavy handedness. Kids these days are out of control, unparented. They need tough love.

Go Marjean! I'm trying like heck to remember the name of our old team.... Maybe I can even catch a game when I'm home this spring.

Karri, I am glad you looked up my page. We were the Praire Giants, though we were the smallest team in the league, those were the good ol' days. When I coach I have a hard time not "jumping in" the game when the ball comes to my sideline. I am serious too, I have actually flinched. I would probably end up on the news if I actually did it.

Bailey was the lucky girl to find the Easter Egg hidden in a "fresh pile". He tends to do that every year!
